Get Your Website Reviewed: Here’s Why

Filed under: Online Marketing — Matty @ 6:00 am

When you pay for your site or blog to be reviewed, you are simply paying to have me look over your blog and highlight areas where you are doing outstanding work, and other areas where you could improve. Ideally, getting a review from me will get you noticed some in the Blogosphere, bring you some targeted traffic and establish some high value backlinks to your site.

Description of a Typical Blog or Site Review

Everything I do, I take very seriously, and blog reviews are no exception. I guarantee you that I will spend as much time as is necessary before I formulate an opinion and write an evaluation. The review will be in-depth and based on any or all of the following criteria:

* Content
* Navigation
* Aesthetics / Appearance
* Organization
* URL Structure
* Do Things Make Sense?
* How Efficiently You’ve Used Your Real Estate
* Search Engine Optimization Elements
* General Quality and Level of Entertainment or Interest
* Writing Proficiency
* How Thoroughly You’ve Covered Your Topic

What Will Be Included in Your Blog or Site Review

* The complete review of your blog or site, published permanently to my site (Page Rank 4)
* An image from your blog (most likely your logo) somewhere in the review
* An ad tile to place on your site saying that you’ve been reviewed here

Reasons to Get Your Blog Reviewed

The reasons why you should get your blog or site reviewed are many – and if you’re new to online marketing, then here are the basics. First and foremost, in my opinion, if you’re operating a site online, then as with any other venture, you should strive to do your best. The only true way to figure out what is or is not working with your creation, is to humble yourself and open up to the process of constructive criticism. We all want to improve, and to create something successful – online, that means getting traffic, subscribers, comments, listings high up in the search engines, sales, whatever. Finding out what your site looks like to someone else who spends a lot of time examining other sites is valuable information.

Another great reason to consider getting reviewed is the potential for traffic. You have the opportunity, when you get your site reviewed, to acquire potentially hundreds of new readers that you might not otherwise have access to. In the process of reading your site review, new readers will learn interesting things and be exposed to the topics that you cover. New traffic is like Willy Wonka’s Golden Ticket; without traffic, you don’t have much.

Every review that I do here on this site will contain between 2 and 5 backlinks to various pages on your site. Quality backlinks from sites with high page rank (as of 11.17.09 this is a PR4) are a valuable component in every search engines’ evaluation of a website. High value inbound links to your site increase overall link popularity, which somewhere down the line of dominoes, ends up helping your site to achieve better rankings in the search engines. Think about it like this – a link pointing to your site is like getting a vote in a high school popularity contest. The site with the most votes, or links pointing to is….(?) You guessed it. The winner of the popularity contest. Which is not to say, hey! I’ve got the most popular site! Instead – this means more traffic, and everything that can come with it.

Lastly, and possibly the least tangible result, is the ever-mercurial notion of branding. Create some buzz. Have the blog review end up in syndication through RSS feeds, email subscriptions, or other sites, who might also pick up and re-publish the content.

Getting Your Blog Reviewed – What It Costs You

I use this blog for a lot of things, and given my experience in online marketing and my background as a writer, doing site reviews is one of those purposes. I critically evaluate as many facets of your site as possible, from the aesthetics to functionality, URL structure to search engine optimization, writing proficiency to topical interest. Regardless of my background, in the end, it’s just an opinion – take it or leave it.

If you would like to have your blog reviewed, fill out the form below. In exchange I ask for a fee of $50 and a permanent text link back to my site. You can write an article reviewing this site or write one talking about how you were recently reviewed on my site, or do something entirely different. Copy the image below, place it on your site to show others that you’ve been reviewed here, and link it directly to the page where your blog or site was reviewed. All these methods are fine by me.

So the process will go like this -
1) Fill out the form requesting a review
2) I will contact you with any questions before starting
3) Send money ($50) through paypal (mattybyloos AT gmail DOT com)
4) Notify me via email with a link to the page on your site where you’ve placed a link back to me
5) Give me 10 business days and I’ll notify you when your site review is complete (URL included)
