Always nice to get a little surprise in the morning. Today, it came in the form of a facebook message from Dan Perkins, owner and founder of Couch Guitar Straps from Long Beach. A few years ago, I did a little design for his Artist Series guitar straps, most of which feature vegan, dead-stock vintage vinyl. I guess we did pretty well with the design, and it’s gone on to sell to a lot of musicians. (more…)

It pays to be loyal to your blogs, people. Every morning, it’s become ritual for me to refresh pages on tabs and tabs that I keep open all the time in the hope that new material of interest comes my way. Never to be disappointed, the cadre of intelligentsia over at HTML Giant, the Internet Literature Magazine Blog of the Future, has supplied me with this pure bliss.
I’ve been coming across one too many really great pieces of writing not to share. Here’s a short list for you if you’re looking for some good stuff to read while bored at work this week…
“I Am the Unicorn,” by Nicolle Elizabeth, over at the Rumpus. Beautiful, deeply human, well executed and heavy. Nothing like a seemingly far-reaching tangent in an essay that then gets neatly folded back into the fabric of the piece. (more…)
