Core Energetics Characterology #1: The Fragmented Character

from $50.00

Core Energetics is a therapeutic modality whose origins include Wilhelm Reich’s (a contemporary of Freud) early work, which evolved in the hands of John Pierrakos and Alexander Lowen’s Bioenergetics, and ultimately found its current form when paired with the spiritual practice found in Eva Pierrokas’s Pathwork of Self-Transformation. Through various means, the modality encourages exploring one’s inner nature to discern the “real self” that exists there, in order that we might live a more authentic life—which is to say, that we might live in greater truth.

Part of the modality involves five different Characters (the study of Characerology), that relate to individual periods in early childhood development. Based on childhood wounding and the individual’s response and articulation of a survival strategy or defense, each character offers a window of insight into what makes us behave and respond in relationship the way we do as adults. Through this awareness, we may have the ability to change the things that interrupt or experience of living in truth.

The first character, the Fragmented self, represents the earliest wound, and is depicted here in this image. May you honor your right to exist in the material plane…

Original Painting: 2022, acrylic and colored pencil on Bristol paper, 14” x 17”
